Blades of Time Preview

blades

So, upon opening up the Blades of Time demo I downloaded off the interwebs I was very happy to see a scantily clad lady on the cover of a konami game. I feel like its setting me up for a fun time.

The load screen was fun to control, though it made me a bit nauseous.

The controls remind me a bit of God of War, but the poor girl is running around in stilettos with pigtails. Hot, but not the most functional costume ever. Once again, the font is too darn small. I can’t see it and I have a quite large TV.

Aiming with the gun is rough. I found it way more fun to hack and slash my way through rather than try to make due with the gun. The ability to rewind time to use it for puzzles is really cool, and I like the platforming aspect of the game. The creatures that we get to fight are kinda neat, but repetitive. All the finishing moves are the same, so it becomes a slash attack button mash hate screen pretty quickly.

About halfway through the demo it shot me away into an arena to learn how to use some of the abilities, but it seems like smashing x was the best answer to my problems. The magic was fun though.

As for the voice acting… wow. It is so bad it hurts my head. “So the altar is a source of power? Cool!” Seriously. She said that. While speaking to an inanimate voice.

All in all, the game is ok. Kind of. Not good enough that I would buy it, but I might masturbate to the chick if I could get some rule 34.
