Mighty Mighty Wrath

Asura's Wrath

Asura's Wrath

I think it’s fair to say that this Asura dude in Asura’s Wrath is definitely one pissed off guy, at least that’s what I get from the premise of it. Asura’s Wrath though follows the context of a beat’em up/action adventure style, which is pretty bad awesome for it.

From what it seems like in the set up, Asura’s Wrath takes place over thousands of years, even getting into the whole sci-fi of it all. The one thing that stays the same is that this one man, takes out some huge opponents and leaves a pile of rubble wherever he goes.

I played through the demo of it, and from what I got so far, this dude takes out some opponents in huge worldly types of ways. A lot of what he’s taking out it looks like are deities, but it’s almost in this anime-styled beating the crap out of his opponents.  The graphics themselves also prove to be of Capcom’s involvement in one way or another. The cinematic sequences also feature cues that players have to press in for buttons and then there’s the burst mode which is actually pretty awesome.

The only real concern that I have of this game is that playing through the demo, it just looked like a reminder of the Dragon Ball Z thing. I’m not straight up saying that the whole Dragon Ball Z thing isn’t bad, but I mean, that’s what that series was for, and this game almost feels like the same premise. It looks like we all won’t find out until we review it here at Gamer’s Dish, stay tuned for that and for more from us!

Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon

Sailor Moon #1 and Sailor V #1

I know. I know. It’s super lame. It’s so super girlie. I know, and I’m sorry, but I just can’t help it. This is my childhood, and ya’ll can suck it.

So the dealio is this: Kodansha has decided to re-release the sailor moon comic books with new cover art (which is actually the cover art that was used in Japan during its previous release) BUT the real kicker here is THEY ARE RELEASING SAILOR V!!! Yes. There. It’s out. I know I’m a little late on mentioning this, but seriously, guys, this is the most awesome bit of Japan-related news in YEARS!

So, the Sailor V comics had never been released before, and now that they are out I’m thrilled! I’ve read them, I loved them, and I’m excited to get the Sailor Moon series now too.

Sailor Moon #1 and Sailor V #1

Sailor V is the story about what happened before Sailor Venus joined up with the rest of the Sailor Senshi/Warriors, but it was written before Sailor Moon. It was the success of Sailor V that got the publishing deal for Naoko Takeuchi to even write Sailor Moon, and I’m eternally thankful that she did.

Anyway. For the guys, hot chicks in mini skirts saving the world. Trust me. It’s a blast. Read them.
